FRIDAYTHOUGHTS #300: WHEN LIFE FEELS LIKE CHRISTMAS, THE POWER OF PURPOSE

I’ve been working on something lately that’s got me so excited, I haven’t wanted to sleep. I need to sleep—seriously, I’m crashing right after I finish writing this—but there’s a joy when you’re tapped into something that lights your soul on fire.

I mentioned a friend of mine just got accepted into University. She had happy tears when she got her acceptance letter. She’s going back to school, chasing something that sets her soul on fire—and she’s excited. That kind of excitement? That’s what happens when you start walking toward your purpose.

There’s nothing like it.

Growing up with my mother and two brothers, we didn't have much. One of the best Christmases I ever had was the year my mom went to the Salvation Army and came home with this massive red bag—halfway to the ceiling (okay, maybe not that tall, but it felt like it). It was stuffed with toys. I’d never seen so many gifts in my life. That Christmas stuck with me because it wasn’t about where the toys came from—it was about the joy, the surprise, the magic.

That’s how I feel right now, doing this work.

When you’re aligned with your purpose, life feels like that—like Christmas morning. Like you just got gifted something you didn’t even know you needed, but it fits your soul perfectly.

Of course, there’s a price to pay.

You’ve got to go through hell to get to your version of heaven. But what’s the alternative? A slow, numbing drift toward something you never fully wanted?

It’s like the story of the frog in the well. His family had water, food, comfort—but they only ever saw the world through a narrow hole above. One day, that frog climbed out. It was rough. He bruised himself. It took years. But he made it. First, he found a pond. Then, he ventured further—and discovered a lake.

There’s more waiting for you, but you have to be willing to climb.

Goals and dreams are great. But they won’t fulfill you unless they’re rooted in purpose. Purpose takes those goals and amplifies them. It’s what gives your life color, weight, meaning. When you lock in on your purpose, you activate something deeper—your self-love, your God-vibration, your reason.

And when you find it, you don’t just change your own life—you give everyone around you permission to do the same.

So, whatever you're building, keep going/keep growing. It’s worth it. And you're worthy of it.
Have an incredible weekend in advance.
