FRIDAYTHOUGHTS #284: THE EPIDEMIC OF THE LACK OF SELF-LOVE
The epidemic of: the lack of self-love.
The same way a pregnant mother takes care of her baby. She watches what she eats, where she goes, and will even sacrifice herself if necessary for her child. Everything she does goes into protecting the precious gift she’s been given. Why? Because she loves her baby. A healthy mother loves her child during pregnancy and beyond. That’s love at its finest.
At the end of the day, we, as human beings, protect and take care of the things that we love. I’ve been saying this for the longest time: The only thing that’s stopping someone from going after everything they know they are, is love.
Let me explain. People take care of what they love. Go on someone’s social media, and you’ll see exactly what they love—they post about it, share pictures of it, etc. People naturally talk about what they love.
When you love yourself, you’ll do all the things you know you should do for you in every area: mind, body, soul, finances, relationships, etc. It all comes down to love. The real epidemic? The lack of self-love.
When you increase your self-love, you increase your vibration. And when you increase your vibration, you raise your standards. There are certain things you’ll never accept again. There are certain things you’ll never do, because you love yourself.
This is why I say that knowing who you are is the most impactful thing you can ever do in this world. When you say you love someone, keep this in mind: People can only love you based on their ability to love themselves.
Read that again. People can only love you based on their ability to love themselves.
True, authentic love isn’t possible when someone doesn’t love themselves. Unfortunately, the majority of people don’t love themselves. This is the greatest epidemic known to humankind. As Denzel Washington says, “You can’t legislate love.” You can’t force it. But there are so many ailments, diseases, and viruses that are caused by a lack of self-love.
When you go down the beautiful rabbit hole of self-discovery—to find out who you are, you’ll increase your self-love…and as you do that, you’ll enhance every area of life.
And it’s not just for you—it’s for the people you’re here to serve.
As I always say, it doesn’t matter what happened yesterday, this morning, last week, or even ten years ago. You can always rewrite your script. It’s a choice.
You can choose today to take one step towards self-discovery, one step towards increasing your self-love. And as you do that, you take one step towards raising the vibration of the world around you. And that, my friend, is the most beautiful thing you can ever do.
I see you. Have an incredible weekend on purpose. #BuildSomethingBeautiful 🌹
