FRIDAYTHOUGHTS #266: SEE THE BEAUTY, KEEP ASCENDING
As spiritual beings having a human experience, it’s inevitable that we’ll face pain. It’s just part of the journey. But here’s the key: the goal of this “video game” called life is to remember who we are. We come into this world with amnesia, and the challenge is to rediscover our purpose, our power, and our true selves. Once we unlock that, life starts to feel a lot easier.
Remember playing video games as a kid? Maybe you still do. Growing up, my younger brother and I spent hours playing Madden. We had epic battles and got really good at it over time. And that’s the point—once you practice and improve, you enjoy it more because you’re good at it. Life works the same way. You can become great at anything—whether it’s math, construction, Muay Thai, or any other skill you choose to master. When you’re great at something, it becomes fun, and you start realizing how simple it feels.
It’s not that the process itself is easy, like becoming a black belt in Jiu-Jitsu or mastering any skill, but the work you put in makes the difference.
Take boxing, for example. When I first started, even though I had natural talent, I got beat by guys with more experience. It was tough, but I kept going, kept growing, and eventually became a better boxer. That pain, those losses—they taught me. And here’s something I’ve learned: mistakes are a myth. Disappointments are a myth. It’s all part of learning. Pain is necessary for growth. You have to go through it to ascend to the next level.
Whenever you face pain, you have two choices: you can get bitter, or you can get better. You can stay where you are, or you can rise higher. Unfortunately, many people don’t choose to ascend. Pain is a signal, a wake-up call that something needs to change. It’s telling you to make an adjustment.
Yes, it’s okay to kick, scream, or cry. We’re human after all. But after you’ve let those emotions out, sit down, dry your eyes, and ask, “What am I supposed to learn from this? How am I meant to grow? How can I ascend?” And I promise, if you ask those questions, you will find your answers.
With each challenge you overcome, life becomes easier—just like becoming more skilled in a video game. The game of life isn’t hard once you understand and elevate your skills in it. But to get to heaven, you’ve got to walk through hell first.
So, embrace the journey. Learn from your pain. Keep ascending. As you grow, you’ll not only transform yourself but inspire others to do the same.
I see you. Keep going, keep growing. You're needed.
If you’re in Canada, have an amazing Thanksgiving weekend. #bless
