FRIDAY THOUGHTS #195: HARD MODE
Hard mode.
I was just talking with my girlfriend about life and it's challenges. I know that life can be rough sometimes (and that's an understatement) and you know what? It's supposed to be that way, listen, there's no sense fighting about something that you can't change.
Embrace it.
Then learn to dance in the rain.
Embrace the ugly challenges and learn to find the beauty in them all. If it's going to rain, why not have an umbrella to keep you from getting soaked??!
Life can definitely be rough sometimes, it's filled with challenges and there is no way around that, however, life can and wants to be easy, but ONLY when we consistently do the things that are hard.
Read that last sentence again.
All good, I'll just write it in a different way: life is easy when we do the hard things.
I'll put it even another way: the miracles that happen in life were always meant to be normalized.
What I'm saying is that life wants to be so good for you that you feel like pinching yourself. That's how good. Also that's how great you are...and that's how great life wants to be - BUT you gotta do the things that are hard. You know what you should be doing: You know when you're not eating healthy, sleeping too less/much, being lazy, gossiping too much, not taking responsibility, not meditating, not spending enough quality time with your spouse/children, not drinking enough water and the list goes on and on and on.
When you start doing the hard things that no one else wants to do, you will then make life look easy. Tom Brady, Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant...they all made it look easy in their respective sports. They made it look flawless, but in order to get to that level of mastery, they had to obsessed to do the hard work: they had a different mindset and a different work ethic. They did what was hard and made it look easy.
Take life off of hard mode, you've done that long enough.
I see you doing the work, making the sacrifices, continue pushing forward and making your progress...that compound interest looks like royalty on you. I'm proud of you, I see you and I appreciate you.
