FRIDAY THOUGHTS #145: JE SUIS TRES FATIGUE

Je suis tres fatigue.

On the journey towards your goals/dreams and purpose...this French phrase above will be inevitable. For those of you that know this phrase you get the point. For those of you who are scratching their heads, I'll translate - it means: I am very tired.

I was born in Canada and I grew up in Los Angeles, California - for those of you familiar with L.A., you need a car to get around anywhere and on top of that you have to start your trip at least an hour in advance due to crazy traffic. If you're in a city/town where you drive for hours everyday, more than likely, you've experienced running out of gas...it's happened to me about twice. It sucked. The first time I believe I was driving home from University, I clearly saw the "empty gas" sign blinking at me, but I ignored it, and ended paying for that decision by having to walk half a mile to the nearest gas station, thankfully, I wasn't stuck on the freeway when it happened. This was a big inconvenience but it could have been worse. I hurt myself because I ignored the signs.

Life is the same way.

If you're like myself, it's easier for you to overwork than it is do less...if you're like me, it's easier for you to start than it is to stop. If you're like me, you're obsessed with getting to a new milestone and in turn can overwork yourself. When working towards your dreams and goals, so many times you can feel your body telling you to slow down and get more rest - but you keep pushing yourself until you wind up with a cold, doing subpar work or even worse causing serious damage to your physical health, etc.

If this message resonates with your spirit/gut, then take this as a sign to inform you that your gas tank is empty and needs to be filled. That may mean different things to different people, you'll know what it means for you. You're doing excellent but it's time to listen to your body and take the time to fill up your mental, emotional and physical "gas tank".

To those of you who are working diligently towards your goals/dreams and purpose, feel free to take some time this weekend to rest up, you deserve it champion. Either we stop and get gas on our own terms...or life will force us to stop and get gas on it's terms. It's less inconvenient when it's on our own terms. I believe in you, I see you and I absolutely love what you're doing, you're doing God's work and encouraging more people than you can imagine. Have a blessed weekend - get the rest you need and continue to enjoy the journey. #blessingsonblessings❤️
