FRIDAY THOUGHTS #131: HOW DOES IT FEEL?


How does it feel?

I'm tempted to start singing the D'angelo classic after writing that lol, but seriously...I really want to ask you the question: how does your dream feel? Before you answer, I want you to quickly walk through an exercise with me, this may be extremely basic for some of you, all good - for some, this may be very helpful in answering that question above. Feelings are everything. "You will always have whatever it is you consistently feel." - Nyameche

Note: below is just one of a million different relaxation exercises you can use to still the mind and put you in an excellent position to enter a meditative state to maximize the depth of your feelings during any of your visualizing or affirmations. 

Ready? Let's go:

Step 1. Make sure you're in a quiet room, preferably alone, where you can get really comfortable. I'll give you a minute...

Found a spot? Great. Now, I want you to sit down in a comfortable chair or you can simply sit on your bed. 

Step 2. Now, I want you to take three really deep breaths (do them slowly and make sure they are drawn out). You should feel a decent sense of relaxation after this. 

Step 3. I want you to close your eyes and go through the following relaxation exercise: focus on the top of your head and quietly whisper in your mind the words, " my head is relaxed". Then, I want you to focus on your forehead and again in your mind whisper the words, "my forehead is relaxed". Then do the same thing with your eyes, jaw, neck, shoulders, back, lower back, arms, thighs and all the way down to your toes. You will feel your body really relax with each whisper. Reminder: you are not saying these words out loud, just hear yourself say the words in your mind as you talk to each body part.

Step 4. Now, you are in a good state of relaxation. 

Step 5. Great job. Now, in your mind I want you to slowly countdown from "10" all the way down to "1", then stop.  Perfect. Breathe in the peace that you feel at that moment.

Step 6. Now my friend, I want you to simply enter a standard visualization. I want you to visualize one of your goals. If it's buying a new home, owning your own business, having that ideal relationship, whatever it is - I want you to visualize it with intricate detail.  What shoes are you wearing? What clothes do you have on? But most importantly...I want you to FEEL how it feels to be in that moment. Really be there, feel what it's like to have it now. Take your time and truly be there. Take all the time you need.

Step 7. That's it. Rinse and repeat as soon as you wake up and right before bed for optimal results.

If you can feel the thing you desire consistently enough, without effort/strain - it is only a matter of time until it is manifested.
