FRIDAY THOUGHTS #112: THE TUNNEL

The tunnel.

It always seems daunting at first. For many it seems impossible, but you know that's simply not true. The moment you step foot into that tunnel, you'll see nothing but pitch black...darkness. You know at the end of the tunnel is a light, a beautiful and radiant light...so you enter. The beginning of the journey, you are excited and understandably underestimate how long and how challenging this journey will be. 

You fail a few times, then a few times turns into countless many. Over many years and even decades, those countless failures turn into countless experiences, grit, wisdom and understanding...and ultimately: joy. 

Yes, you've blossomed through the inherent storms that gladly welcome you with each step you take in that tunnel. It's rough in there, but over time you finally realized why it needed to be so rough. You finally realized why it was necessary that you were beaten down, bloodied, left for dead, ridiculed, mocked, cheated, disappointed and heart broken. You realize why all the pain endured was worth it. You're actually thankful for it.

Many people decide not to enter the tunnel. They know the pain that awaits them there and they simply don't have the heart to endure it...it's a pity, because in that tunnel is where life truly begins.

Listen, it won't be easy but it will be worth it. The tunnel is where you were meant to travel. The tunnel has been whispering your name since birth. The journey in that tunnel is the tuition you pay for fulfilling your life's purpose. The tunnel is meant to see how dedicated you are, the tunnel wants to see how bad you want it. If you are willing to die in that tunnel, you will be born again. Yes, that magical/glorious rebirth awaits you in that tunnel. In other words...happiness awaits you in that tunnel.

Many are called, few are chosen.

The tunnel was not built for the weak and uncommitted. If you are willing to pay the ultimate price and commit your life to this journey, you will eventually see your light at the end of your tunnel. One day, you will look up and that light will manifest somewhere far off in the distance - and with each step you take, it will get brighter and brighter and brighter and brighter and brighter...until one day, the Light is all you see.
