FRIDAY THOUGHTS #81: IT'S GOD'S WHISPER

It's God's whisper.

I was at the gym today and there's a gym buddy there that is obsessed with David Goggins lol...and for good reason. Goggins was a big inspiration in his 40 pound weight loss journey over the course of three months. Yes, you heard that right...I was more amazed because this guy is in really good shape, so I was shocked when he showed me pictures of himself just 6 months ago - he looked like a completely different human. He was pretty chubby, had a double chin...I mean it was an amazing transformation. I asked him, "How?! How did you do it??" So many people want to lose weight, stop an addiction, start that new company, make relationship changes, etc. however, so many never follow through - I'm so fascinated by the people that do. Down 40 pounds in three months - from flabby to muscular - from not running at all, to running marathons. I was curious as to what made his situation so different?

He said to me, "The doctor said I had diabetes and if I didn't change my diet I would have to be on medication my entire life...that's what changed it."

Wow, I said to myself...but I realized that that's usually the way it is. People change for two reasons:

1. They deliberately work on reprogramming their subconscious mind to manifest the desired results they want OR...

2. They go through a traumatic situation that forces them to change...for better or for the worse.

I knew a similar situation with a guy from a church I attended many moons ago. At that time I stopped going to church and I hadn't seen him in years...I ran into him at the gym and he was at least 30 pounds lighter and in killer shape. I asked him when did he start working out as hard as he's obviously been? He looked great. He told me was diagnosed with some disease (I forget exactly which one) and that he was told he would surely die if he didn't lose the weight.

Listen, sometimes life will make sure to get our attention when we've neglected doing the things we should be doing. I know I've had those moments/situations myself, I'm human like everyone else...my goal in life is to make sure I'm in such intimate relationship with God that the moment He whispers, I listen..and as quickly as possible.  I've personally hurt myself way too many times by not being obedient to what my gut was telling me to do...I knew what to do, I just didn't have the courage to do it and then years down the line I wish I listened. This can go for anything in your life and not just physical exercise. Do the things you know you should...let's not wait until the whisper turns into a scream.

We've all been there. The point is that our gut never lies, trust and listen to it. It's God's whisper. The world needs what you have, keep doing the inner work and give it to them. #bless
