FRIDAY THOUGHTS #69: HUNGER

Hunger.

Hunger is having the discipline and motivation to do the things you may not "feel" like doing, but doing it like your life depends on it...because it does.

Webster's Dictionary defines it as: "a strong desire".

Now, my question is: how can someone create hunger in themselves? I'm wise enough to understand that you can't force anyone to do anything they're not ready to do themselves. In other words, you can't force someone to be more "hungry" for a goal that they have. For instance, you can't force anyone to go to the gym, lose weight, meditate, read good books, become financially literate, etc. You just can't...and from personal experience it is foolish at best to even try. It's a waste of time and simply creates resentment. I'm sure we've all been there - on both ends of the spectrum. We can't force anyone to change and we hate it when someone forces us to do the same.

Hunger simply has to come from within, at the right time in our own personal journeys. The best you can do to encourage anyone is to simply plant seeds of love, encouragement and live an example of what you preach. What they do with those seeds you plant is none of your business, forever.  Your job is done. Listen, we have enough on our plate by simply focusing on our journey's/paths in life. I truly have no interest or time to focus on what someone else is doing or not doing for that matter. If they need my assistance I will be there as much as I can, other than that - everyone is on their own journey. Love them as is, and let them live. If their behavior is negatively effecting you, then respectfully remove yourself from their presence. Simple. Other than that, just keep living your life...trust me, they're watching.

The best way to encourage anyone is to simply continue focusing on becoming the best version of yourself. Trust the process, do the inner/outer work, spread love and in doing so - you'll be planting more seeds than you'll ever know.

I don't know how to get someone hungry for more. All I care about is my appetite and how to increase it daily. I don't know how I got to be as hungry as I am but I know my "why" for doing it. I am hungry to fulfill my purpose because I know that it is our sole reason for being on this earth - and in doing so we will spread a light across the world that will never be forgotten. That is what fuels me...fulfilling my reason for being alive, period.  I am thankful and focused on fueling it daily with love and consistency.

Continue to be around the people that inspire you and in that process you'll inspire more people than you even know. I see you champion. You have a beautiful heart. Stay hungry, stay consistent and #keepgoing.  #bless 👊🏾
