FRIDAY THOUGHTS #68: BE OBSESSED OR BE FORGOTTEN

Be obsessed or be forgotten.

The word "obsessed" gets a very bad rep...it usually has a negative connotation, however, if you plan on doing anything great - it is a must-have ingredient.  

When I started training in Muay Thai and MMA, the biggest inspiration I had at the time was Conor Mcgregor. His mindset...his belief, his talent - had me in awe. Had me inspired. His quote sums it up, “This is hard work. This is an obsession. We are all equals as human beings. You could be anyone if you put in the time. You will reach the top, and that’s that. I am not talented, I am obsessed.” 

The majority of people will think that your obsession towards achieving your goal is insane, unhealthy and a character flaw...only until you manifest the desired goal(s) will they then call you great and an inspiration. That's just the way it is. The point is that every person alive is great and has a great purpose - the majority are just unaware. There is no one that is better than anyone, we are all beautifully and wonderfully made. People who have not programmed their mind to believe in their inherent greatness will not understand why you are "doing so much". They will wonder why you work so hard, they'll wonder why you are putting yourself through so much fucking pain when there is, in their eyes, an obviously easier option in life. They don't understand that you don't see another option, they don't understand that for you: there is no other option. Period. 

They don't get it that people like yourself, have no desire to lead a "normal life", to you that option is simply not living at all. To live a "normal life" is death. If I couldn't pursue my purpose in life, then being on this earth would become pointless...completely pointless. We are put here to display our beautiful purpose and share that love with the world in the process, anything else is living below our potential and that's selfish. A favorite quote of mine that I've repeated many times sums it up: “The graveyard is the richest place on earth, because it is here that you will find all the hopes and dreams that were never fulfilled, the books that were never written, the songs that were never sung, the inventions that were never shared, the cures that were never discovered, all because someone was too afraid to take that first step, keep with the problem, or determined to carry out their dream.” - Les Brown. 

Keep believing, keep working and stay obsessed. Yes, you are put here for a reason, people need what you have...continue to do the work and give it to them. Trust me, people are out there watching - you're already making more of an impact than you even know. #keepgoing #bless 👊🏾
