FRIDAY THOUGHTS #66: DISAPPOINTMENT: IT DOESN'T EXIST

Disappointment: it doesn't exist.

I was listening to the audiobook the "Science of Getting Rich" by Wallace D. Wattles, the other day and this one particular statement really resonated with me. He said something along the lines of, "when you truly know the power of your mind, you will realize that the idea of disappointment is not real, it's just a figment of your imagination. Why? Because once you realize that God always closes one door to open another door that is just as good if not better. It is law...if you allow it to be."

This one statement stayed with me all week. I mean...it makes so much sense. I've known this concept/idea for many years of course, I abide by it myself - however, it wasn't until a few days ago that it was cemented into my heart like never before.  That day I made up my mind to NEVER be disappointed again. Ever. This was a moment for me.

Trust me lol I had opportunity to be very disappointed just 24hrs later...however, I caught myself and reframed the situation for the truth of what it is. This "setback" is simply preparation for something just as good and at a better time, if not something significantly better altogether. Period. The sense of peace and gratitude I've felt ruminating on this thought was/is priceless. I don't give a shit if all hell broke loose tomorrow...I will give thanks because I know everything is happening for my good and it's really that simple. It just takes time to reprogram your mind to increase your faith in that concept. So many things have happened this year that at the time seemed horrible, however, as I look back I couldn't be more thankful. For one, I had to move in with my Uncle for a few months after losing my job and launching a company months later - during that period I learned so much about financial literacy. I've never been healthier financially in my life. It was a blessing in disguise, like every other "challenge" I've faced in my life.

It really is all good. Give thanks for the current challenges you are facing and be grateful for every challenge in your past. It is all preparation...the pain will force you to move in ways you would never have without it, those moves will take you to a deeper level of understanding of your inherent gifts.

"the pain is opportunity, take full advantage of it...disappointment doesn't exist, take complete solace in it." - Nyameche

I see you champion. You have what you need...and the world needs what you have. #keepgoing
