FRIDAY THOUGHTS #60: MOMENTUM
Momentum.
"It's always hardest when you start", that's a phrase I always say...it's so true. Whenever you plan to do ANYTHING, the beginning will usually be the most difficult step. That's a big part of the reason why New Year's resolutions fail miserably within the first two weeks...people just simply don't know how to manifest the capacity to endure discomfort. However, it is by the very act of enduring unspeakable discomfort that we grow the most. If you shy away from feeling that "burn", you will never reach your full potential.
The human body wants to preserve us, it doesn't want us to put ourselves in dangerous situations...however, we must fight this innate desire to seek comfort and literally run towards the things the very things we fear, run towards those motherfuckers with reckless abandon. We must chase those things down and strangle them with an obsessive and manic energy until they submit to your fucking will...and they will g'dammit. They were always made to submit to you...you just had to get your mindset right.
They will all submit to you...there is just a very long incubation period until it happens. God/The Universe will test you to see how bad you really want it. When you pass the tests...it will arrive. Each time you pass these tests you gain momentum.
Now, these tests will always look enticing...it'll be comforting, easy. it will get you off of your "game plan" and ultimately subtly guide you away from achieving what you truly desire. Any goal you want to attain in life, I will promise you this: you will have to fight the distractions that will be at every corner whispering to you to take the easy route, sleep in, skip the gym, go to the party when you know you should be working, spend the money when you know you should save, do the wrong things when it comes to a relationship, etc. DO NOT LET THEM. Fight it, you will win some and you will lose some, however, if you keep fighting you will one day learn how to dominate. Anything that deters you from your purpose or goal is a distraction. Anything. Family & friends definitely included.
You need to be so disciplined in the things you need to do that the majority of people think you're crazy/weird or simply doing too much. That's normal, find comfort in that. You should be at peace with that. When you are continually doing the inner work you realize that you have everything that you need...and you begin to create the love you were looking for in other people, places and things. All the momentum of love, peace and joy you've created within yourself was worth every tragic moment you've ever experienced. You'll eventually get to a point where you will simply be a human conduit of peace/love wherever you go.
By going through the incubation period, enduring the pain and maintaining your enthusiasm - you win. You were made to win. It is your birthright. I know it was a lonely and at times very treacherous road...but everyone that has taken this path has experienced the same elements. It's literally supposed to be this way. It's supposed to be the hardest thing you ever do, but of course - it is ABSOLUTELY WORTH IT. Tbh, I've grown to love it...to appreciate it. It's just a game, enjoy it - people need what you have, give it to them. 👊🏾
