FRIDAY THOUGHTS #16: NEW WINESKINS

New wineskins.

"And no one pours new wine into old wineskins. Otherwise, the wine will burst the skins, and both the wine and the wineskins will be ruined. No, they pour new wine into new wineskins." - Mark 2:22 NIV

When it's time for you to go to another level...there are people, places and things that won't be able to go with you. Certain habits, relationships, family and friends are put in your life for a season...all seasons come to an end. Some people will continue on your journey for a lifetime...you will know the difference.  As you pursue your purpose...as you forge your character through your daily work, you will realize the path get lonelier in time - you'll realize certain friends you've enjoyed spending time with, you simply don't care to spend time with them anymore. Certain habits you've had you just don't have an appetite for anymore. Theres' nothing wrong with you...you're just growing and being prepared for the next level of your journey.

Let the old habits and people that don't serve you anymore go. Yes, they won't understand why you've pulled away. They won't understand why you're acting "different". Yes, you'll look at the things you used to love doing and be surprised you were even in that space...that's okay, that's part of the process. 

It is a lonely road...this awakening. 99.9% of people are not on the road you are on - you will be misunderstood, ridiculed - you will be "too much", too weird, etc.  It's okay - allow them their thoughts.  The majority of people won't understand your reasons why you do what you do and that's okay, don't argue - don't fight, let it be. This is YOUR journey - the most important journey you will have.

Bottom line. To go to the next level...many people, places and things will not come with you. You can't put new wine into old wineskins. Accept it, let it go and live your purpose. People need what you have...desperately. Accept every discomfort and #keepgoing champion. 👊🏾
