FRIDAY THOUGHTS #4: DANCING IN THE RAIN
I believe in everyones life there a few monumental moments that define it. Those moments are tragic - they are those moments that shape your life to the point that no matter how hard you try you'll simply never be the person you used to be...and that's not necessarily a bad thing, depending on how you to metabolize that pain and trauma.
Those moments can come in the form of an illness, death, financial loss (I mean losing EVERYTHING), divorce, etc. I've had a few of these times...and when it poured it poured. If you're reading this I can almost guarantee you've had a few of those times in your life as well and if you haven't - you will. It's life. It will bring you to your knees and keep you there if you let it...but it's simply getting our attention. I don't know why life is the way it is...I just know that, it is. It's ruthless...but it is good. Those tragic times will either make you into the person you've always been or you will cower, live mediocre, try to stay away from anything that is uncomfortable, find a "safe space" for the rest of your life and then die. We all have two choices on how we deal with the tragedies of life...and we're making those choices everyday by our actions.
What are your actions today saying about the trajectory of your life? Life is not supposed to be easy guys...they lied to many of us. It's fucking RUTHLESS but GOOD! Only the Warriors thrive in the jungle and the good news...we're all WARRIORS and it's the pain of life that gets it out of us. Don't prayer for a lighter load...the heavy load is getting all of the good in you to come out and be displayed. Learn to "dance in the rain" - it's the best teacher in the world if we know how to study correctly.
